Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. – Preston County, WV

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides training, skill development, and jobs for low-income persons age 55 years and older in Preston County, WV.

How SCSEP Works

SCSEP enrollees are assigned to job training positions with public and private nonprofit agencies. Preference is given to agencies that serve the elderly or that are involved in intergenerational activities that foster a positive image of older citizens in the community.

Participant Benefits

There are many benefits of SCSEP aside from wages. Participants can learn how to improve their chances of getting a job, update specific job-related skills, and receive an annual physical examination. In addition, participants can readily access information and supportive services regarding Social Security benefits, income tax requirements, nutrition, consumer education, and personal grooming to boost self-confidence and empower themselves. SCSEP workers enjoy enhanced community connections, as well as a sense of responsibility, self-worth, and satisfaction. Many enrollees are able to successfully reenter the competitive labor force and significantly increase their income.

Other Employment Opportunities – Part-Time and Seasonal

Part-time and seasonal opportunities await the individual who wants to earn a little more cash or just needs a break from retirement. We firmly believe the older worker brings valuable experience and unparalleled commitment to their employer. Our team is always looking for responsible, mature individuals to join our workforce. We look forward to hearing from you!
