Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. is your local access point for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture’s Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). This program is designed to provide low-income seniors with assistance purchasing fresh produce grown in West Virginia.

What Can I Buy With Farmers’ Market Coupons?

Farmers’ Market Coupons (vouchers) may be exchanged for fresh, unprepared, locally-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey.

In 2019, each household received coupons totaling $28. This amount is subject to change based on funding for the program. You are encouraged to use the entire value of each voucher. Change cannot be given for any unused portion.

Who Is Eligible for Farmers’ Market Coupons?

Individuals aged 60 and above who meet income guidelines can sign up to request the Farmers’ Market Coupons (vouchers). Please contact Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. for more information about the income guidelines for the current year.

The maximum allowable gross income (before taxes) levels for SFMNP FY 2019 are listed below:

How Do I Request Farmers’ Market Coupons?

Stop in or call Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. in June to sign up for the program. We will have the Farmers’ Market Vouchers ready to distribute starting July 1st.

Where Can I Use My Farmers’ Market Coupons?

Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons can be used to purchase local honey and locally grown fruits and vegetables from participating farmers markets throughout the state of West Virginia. The following farmers markets, produce stands, and tailgate vendors operate in Preston County:
