Preston County Senior Citizens, Inc. offers quality personal care services designed to help older residents achieve maximum health and well-being in the comfort of the home environment. Our Lighthouse Program helps take some of the burden off of family caregivers with personalized solutions and compassionate, skilled support that helps those with care needs manage their daily lives with dignity and increased independence.
Lighthouse Program Services
After a plan of care is developed, eligible seniors can receive up to 60 hours per month of in-home assistance. This may consist of a wide range of services including personal care, nutrition, mobility assistance, and housekeeping assistance. These services are designed to help older Preston County residents remain healthier, happier, more comfortable, and independent in the privacy of their home. Each individual’s specific needs are identified, carefully considered, and addressed to help make a real, lasting difference in life quality for the entire family. Supportive services may include:
- Hot, Balanced Meal Preparation
- Nutrition Assistance (help with shopping and meal planning)
- Assistance with Mobility (walking, transferring, etc.)
- Light Housekeeping (dishwashing, laundry, changing bed linens, etc.)
- Help with Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Toileting and Personal Hygiene
- General Personal Care
Eligibility – Lighthouse Program (Personal Care)
Preston County residents aged 60+ who are medically qualified for services are eligible to participate in the Lighthouse Program. Our nurse can perform an evaluation to determine eligibility for the program. Eligibility is not based on financial considerations or assets. The cost of services is determined on a sliding scale basis according to annual income of the care recipient (and spouse, if applicable).
